June 30, 2010, Aloha! While conditions are improving on Maui, unfortunately they are still not conducive to putting on a world class marathon, half marathon, and 5K events for Sunday, January 16, 2011. Runners and participants deserve the best when coming to Maui. Unless the MPM team can guarantee that to its participants, they will not hold the event as much as they would like to do that for all of you who want to come to Maui to run/walk and combine it with a first class vacation. Therefore, the January 16, 2011 event will not be held on a formal basis.

Things are still too unsettled with other comparable events being held on Maui during the year and the confusion is not serving the participants nor Maui well. As a result, until a more definitive direction is determined we will hold off producing the MPM in hopes the confusion will abate and conditions will again exist to properly hold the MPM.

If you or a group would like to come to Maui to run the course(s), get some special room rates, have us help you enjoy your stay on Maui please feel free to contact me. This also includes organizations meeting on Maui who might want a "company" event like a 5K run/walk. Please continue to check the website because we might do something informally on January 11, 2011. This would mean you would need to carry your own supplies and the other amenities normally associated with a formal event would not be available. If you would like to do something in this manner, let me know. If enough people are interested, we can even get shirts and medals!
